New High-End Floorstanding Speaker from ELAC

German speaker manufacturer ELAC has announced a new loudspeaker that uses an ELAC-designed and -constructed coaxial midrange/tweeter driver. According to ELAC, the FS 607 X-JET is a 3 1/2-way design that uses "a unique combination of a planar aluminum honeycomb midrange diaphragm surrounding a JET III ribbon tweeter." Its cabinet is a "combination of extruded aluminum, aluminum casting and MDF with horizontal and vertical internal tension rods." Frequency response is said to be 28Hz-50kHz, sensitivity is 89dB/2.8V/m, and nominal impedance is 4 ohms. The FS 607 X-JET measures 42 1/2"H x 11 1/2"W x 11 1/8"D and weighs 77 pounds. The speaker uses van den Hul internal wiring and is fully shielded for home-theater use.
