Italian Electronics Brand Comes to US

January 17, 2005

Trian Electronics, distributor for various brands of high-end professional and consumer audio products, has announced that Audia Flight electronics from Italy will now be available in the US. The line consists of three amplifiers, a preamplifier, an integrated amplifier, and a CD player. Audia claims that its amplifiers exploit a current-feedback scheme, as opposed to traditional voltage feedback. The company claims that this makes for "very fast, stable circuits with a strong ability to control even the wildest reactive load."

The Flight 100 (shown right, $10,995) and Flight 50 ($5995) are dual-mono stereo amplifiers that deliver 100 and 50Wpc respectively in pure class A. The Flight 3.100 ($5995) is a three-channel amplifier with similar circuitry and 100Wpc output. The Flight Three preamplifier ($6995) is a dual-mono design that uses a constant-impedance attenuator with 0.5dB steps. The Flight One integrated amplifier ($7995) is said to use all Audia Flight design innovations and offer performance similar to that of the company's preamp/power-amp combination. The Flight CD One ($6995) is a 24-bit/192kHz CD player that uses a Philips CDM-PRO2 transport mechanism in a fully balanced design.
