Audiophile-Grade Fuses from Isoclean

February 4, 2005

Audiophiles expend much effort and money tweaking the performance of their hi-fi systems. Often this involves swapping the tubes and power cords that come standard with components for after-market equivalents that promise better sound. Add fuses to this list. Isoclean, a Hong Kong-based manufacturer of a large line of power and isolation products, has two sizes of slow-blow fuses that are meant for use in audio electronics and promise better performance. The end of each fuse is plated with 24K gold, and the metallic holder has been "specially treated." Each fuse has also been "accurately measured and checked in order to bring your equipment to the highest standard."

Isoclean fuses come in two sizes and many values. In the 5 x 20mm size there are 1A,1.6A, 2A, 2.5A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6.3A, 8A and 10A values, while the larger 6 x 31.8mm size comes in  1A,1.6A, 2A, 2.5A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A, 8A, 10A,12A and 15A values. Each fuse costs $25. All Isoclean products are distributed in the US by Aaudio Imports.
